The North Carolina Youth Wind Ensemble (NCYWE) is for young players spanning the state of NC. Our mission is to refine each artist’s musical skills through challenging wind ensemble repertoire and working with professional musicians.
ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENT: Students who have a school band program MUST participate in their school program to be able to perform with NCYWE. This does not affect home-schooled students.
There is an audition fee of $25*. Submit 2-3 minute audition example(s) that demonstrate your best playing ability. Contrasting styles are recommended. Submit your application and upload your 2-3 minute recording/video by December 1, 2019.
If you are accepted there is a tuition fee of $275.00*. No musician is turned away for inability to pay the participation fee. Fees are waived for those in Free or Reduced–Price Lunch Programs. Documentation will be required for need-based financial aid.
